Call of Duty 4 EMS VII Playoffs.

The Call of Duty 4 EMS VII Playoffs have began and Team YoYoTech get off to a brilliant start with 1 win on the playing table by beating TROPOBELY.

The ladder was randomly selected and round 1 has been played accordingly. The seedings have also been released on the bracket with Team YoYoTech seeded at gaining 3rd place. This has already been broken with ONLINERz finishing postively versus fragmasters! and advancing to round 2 to face our very own Team YoYoTech side. This means that Team YoYoTech should be looking promising to be finishing with a higher seed in the play-off stages than predicted if they can keep their heads down and take the win against ONLINERz.

With [R]eason gaming at the top of the brackets in round 2 after beating 8th seed and Epsilon advancing by beating 5th seed, the rest of the playoffs are sure going to be brilliant to keep an eye on.

UPDATE:

Team YoYoTech have now advanced into the second stage of the playoffs into round 3 by beating ONLINERz. They will now face [R]eason Gaming in the finals to hopefully win the top position of the playoff stages and become 1st or 2nd seed. This means that they have already beaten their said 3rd seed.

The seeds for the play-off stages are as follows:

1st - [R]eason Gaming
2nd - fragmasters!
3rd - Team YoYoTech
4th - Epsilon
5th - Validus
6th - TROPOBELY
7th - ONLINERz
8th - Zero Empathy.UK

Good luck to all participants and very good luck to Team YoYoTech.

FrostBeule is the SEC'10 Champion!

All matches are played now and this action packed weekend comes to an end. Both the YoYoTech players can look back at a very successful event where both put up a solid performance's.

FrostBeule managed to win the first edition of the WCG 2010: Samsung Euro Championship by winning the tournament after coming back from the Lower Brackets, while he also took the 2nd spot in the Acer Euro Challenge, held at the same venue. Meanwhile hakkiJunior put up a solid performance and excelled himself to the world top players on LAN and he put up some serious competition.

WCG 2010: SEC'10

At the Time Attack seeding phase FrostBeule managed to come out on top and getting the top seed, while hakkiJunior took the 6th seed. By this seeding both the YoYoTech's avoided each other till the WB Final. hakkiJunior managed to cause an upset, as an underdog he beat 2 of the WCG'09 finalists Bergie and Pezi in a very close fight. However in the WB Final both the YoYoTech players dropped down to the LB Final. In this LB Final both of the YoYoTech players had to fight it out for 2nd spot and it was FrostBeule taking the 2nd spot and moving to the Grand Finals.

It seemed that FrostBeule had really grown back in to the tournament as he managed to come back from Lower Bracket to win this first edition of the Samsung Euro Championship and taking home a cash prize of 3000€!

Meanwhile the Acer European Challenge was being held aswel at the same venue. Most of the SEC participants had also qualified for this cup including the YoYoTech participants of the SEC'10. Both qualified for the Grand Finals where they played for Acer hardware worth thousands in total.

The match itself was once again a close one and once again the YoYoTech players played a huge role in this matchup. As it was PeZi coming out on top, FrostBeule took 2nd and taking home a nice reward aswel.
A brilliant weekend for the YoYoTech Trackmania players which was concluded with a top spot on the European Championships. Huge congratulations for FrostBeule for the performance but aswel the amazing prizes he will take home which for sure will come in handy. Meanwhile hakkiJunior managed to excel himself into the world top of LAN players and definately showed his face while going into the preparations for the World Cyber Games 2010 in Los Angeles where both these players will compete.

Our very own FrostBeule and hakkiJunior have been invited to the SEC but have also qualified for the AEC.
The SEC 2010 started on friday with a 2 map Time Attack session to determine the seeds for the players in their 1st round. In this session FrostBeule managed to set the fastest time overall and acquired the 1st seed. hakkiJunior struggled a bit more during this session and took the 6th spot, which in the end gave him a nice tree in the tournament. As both YoYoTech participants will not face each other till the WB Final. This also gave either a bye in the 1st round as matches won't be played if there are just 2 competitors out of the 4.

1st Round

FrostBeule - Bye
hakkiJunior - Bye

In the next round both players had to get serious as they will face potential winners in the Semi Finals. FrostBeule seems to have the better match however he had to meet Carl, which is always a serious competitor. We haven't recieved much information as the coverage is poor, all we know is that FrostBeule took the 2nd spot in this match, but we can't say anything about how close it might have been.

Meanwhile hakkiJunior found himself in the WB Semi with Bergie and Pezi, who are the number 3rd and 4th of the last World Cyber Games. It can be said that hakkiJunior is the underdog in this matchup. This match seemed very close from what we have seen inbetween these 3 competitors while Munkeholm couldn't seem to follow the bunch. In the end we can tell that it has been an amazingly tense match and quite a surprising win from hakkiJunior as he comes out on top! Bergie finished in 2nd and also proceeds to the WB Final.

WB Semi Finals

FrostBeule - 2nd
hakkiJunior - 1st

The WB final promises to be exciting as all favourites face each other.

WB Final

From what we could tell from the limited info given, it was a very tight match however Carl showed impressive skill to take the 1st place with quite a gap towards the rest. Sadly either of the YoYoTech players couldn't secure a spot in the Grand Finals and drop to the LB Final.

1st. Carl
2nd. Bergie

LB Final

In the LB Final Pezi seemed to have redeemed himself and took the lead and in the end also the win. Both FrostBeule and hakkiJunior had to fight for the last spot in the Grand Finals and it was FrostBeule that took 2nd with a small margin over hakkiJunior. However hakkiJunior can look back to a succesful event and clearly showed his abilities in the world top on LAN in this event. Something he will definately take with him when going into the WCG 2010 Finals in Los Angeles.
This event also had a Time Attack session to determine seeds and this time FrostBeule took the top seed again while hakkiJunior took 4th. Meaning they will not meet each other in the 1st round, but in the final.

Both the YoYoTech's managed to get themselves in a final where 3 of them have also qualified themselves for the SEC final. This was a close match however not much info is known of this still due to poor coverage.
This 17th edition could be the best one ever, with great prizes for Trackmania and 16 players battling for the trophy. Amongst them, 1 YoYoTECH player: shief.

The cup will be held in 1on1 mode, meaning everyone has to play against all the other players one time, resulting in 15 matchdays. The special thing about the 1on1's is that it will be held in "tennis" mode. This means that the first player that reaches 6 points, wins the "set" (2-point difference though). The first player that wins 2 sets, wins the match. For every won match, the winner gets €10, which is quite unique in TMNF.
We will be following shief throughout EPS.de 17 and we'll be updating this news after every matchday.

Playday 1 (vs. Scream)
In this first match, shief was facing Infused.Scream. The first match is always interesting to see the training level of the players. And we can say that shief is well trained. He finished it quite fast, with a very decent 6-2 6-2 victory. A first win and the first 10 euros are in the pocket!

Playday 2 (vs. Smiie)
This second match promised to be harder. Smiie is an excellent fast player from SL Communis, who did a great CPS tournament last season. shief started well on the first map and never got threatened here. He took the "set" with 6-3. The second map was way harder, since shief was trailing by four points. But in the end, shief managed to bend things in his favour and eventually won the map with 7-5. Second consecutive victory for our player!

After four weeks of qualifying cups, today was the time for the PlayAll Steelseries Cup grand final. This final would be something special, because it wasn't the normal cup or rounds mode. It was an endurance final, with no less than 50 laps to be driven.
Three YoYoTECH players were qualified, but hakki Junior couldn't play because of WCG.cz/sk. The other two were our newest (trial-)member Sabre and FrostBeule himself. Finally, only 10 players took part in the final, because also Kimi wasn't there.

Final
PeZi took off like a rocket and left everyone behind in the first 10 laps. FrostBeule was following at a short distance, but wasn't tempted to attack PeZi pole position. Our Swedish champ kept playing safe, focussing on every inch of the map and steadily came closer to PeZi. With a mistake by PeZi, FrostBeule and Tannis took over for a long time. The time difference between FrostBeule and Tannis grew slow, but every lap. It was amazing to see how few mistakes FrostBeule made throughout these 50 laps and so he was never really threatened anymore. Another big win for FrostBeule, who keeps gathering great results!
YYT|FrostBeule: "I'm really happy with my performance. Playing Laps is quite different from anything else, as it's really mostly about just being consistent. Before the match started I thought alot about that so I took it really easy in the beginning and eventually I managed to get in 1st position after a couple of laps with 2nd place being behind with some seconds. So I just tried to not crash after that and luckily the rest of the 40 laps I think I did like 3 crashes but luckily I didn't lose much time on them. I hope we will see more tournaments with Laps as it's really underrated in my opinion."

Prizes
If everything goes as planned, FrostBeule will be receiving the following prizes:

1.000,-€ in cash

SteelSeries Merc Stealth Keyboard

SteelSeries Xai Laser Mouse

SteelSeries Siberia v2 Headset (white)

SteelSeries 9HD Mousepad

Kingston HyperX 6GB 1800MHz DDR3

Kaspersky Internet Security 2011

In the Premier League, we find 10 teams again. Next to our own champions, we can find the other finalist of CPS V: TOX Family. But his year, they're doing it without the italian part inFerno esports. TOX could be our hardest opponent again.

To complete last season's podium, direct Method (former Cass' en Deux) will be looking to confirm their excellent shape nowadays. dM is ranked third in TM-rankings the current TM rankings, right behind YoYoTECH and Dignitas. We can expect some good competition from their side again.

Another new name in this season is Team GAMED.DE. Once more a new name, but not a new team, because this is the former atteam. @ surprised last year with some great results and they're hoping to do better this year.

n!faculty is surely not a new name. They've been around for quite a while and always present in major tournaments. Last year they started with a nearly full German line-up, but this time they are more internationally marked again.

Then we arrive at Team Dignitas. Definitely one of the best teams in TMNF history, but they still got things to prove in team competitions. Last year, they managed to win all their matches in the second league, but now it's 'money time' again. The only concern could be their own motivation, but they seem ready to give their best shot!

After the failure of H2K Gaming in TMNF some time ago, they are back with a full French line-up. Almost all the players were picked up from Ubiteam, none less than the STC6 winners.

A little surprise in the premier league is Underground Motorsport of Finland. On paper, they seem the weakest team, but the Finnish guys have proven to be a steady team for quite a while now. They were a little inactive for some months, but now they seem to be totally back.

Last season's 'kings of draws' are also up for the new season. The German guys from SL-communis are back, and who knows for even more draws.

Last but not least is the Czech/Slovakian team wX.Group by Crew.sk. With a rather empty palmares, they will be looking for their best result in a major tournament ever.

YoYoTECH line-up
ESL has put up a player restriction to avoid teams with too many idling players. You can now have 11 players and 2 team managers/captains. The goal is to force teams to pick their most active players, and to have less drop-outs during the season. This is how the current YYT line-up looks like:

Ddie (manager)

JWH (manager)

DVD

FrostBeule

Hakki Junior

Korre

Sandro

Sani0

shief

Veng

YoYo

Sabre (trial)

gaLLo (CPS only)

Maps & Matches
Like we're used from ESL, they're keen on having a rather complicated map cycle. Nevertheless, the reason for this is that they wanna make sure no one gets bored of training the same maps too long.

YYT.COD4 Go Their Seperate Ways

Today we officially announce the split of our Call of Duty 4 team. Since returning from AEF the team has decided to go their separate ways, we had initially hoped to rebuild the team but as time moved on it became clear that this was not a viable option. We would like to thank all the guys for their time with Team YOYOtech and wish them all the best for the future.

Over the coming weeks we will be reviewing our options with regards to a new COD4 team.

Busy Sunday in August

It could be the title of some melodramatic girl movie, but in fact it's just a busy day for some our YYT.tmnf players. Quite a few got in action today, in several online or offline tournaments. Let's have look who played what and if there were any prizes won by our racers.

Giant Cup 8
As FrostBeule is the four-time GC champion, he was the big favourite again. But don't be fooled, it's never easy to win such a popular cup as the favourite. Many top players from all over the world were keen on pushing FrostBeule from the GC-throne. Also some other YoYoTECH players were looking to reach the podium in GC8.

Three of our players started the GC8 cup. FrostBeule and Sandro were in the same part of the tree again. They both proceeded to the second match, where Sandro got sent to the LB. He was able to win his first LB match, but struggled in the second one and got eliminated. FrostBeule won all his matches in the WB and made it to the grand final without any fallback. The third YYT player was our ESWC.fr champ, YoYo. He managed to get to the WB semi-final, but then had a bad match and fell into the LB. He wasn't able to proceed to LB final and so this cup was also over for him.

In the grand final, FrostBeule was facing Carl, Tannis and CiaP. Three very good opponents, of which Tannis would be most to fear. Our Swedish WCG champion took off like a rocket, leading into a 19-points lead after the first map. He kept cool, held the momentum when he had it and always stayed in front of the others. Nevertheless, it was Carl (Jr) that got better and better throughout the match and putting most pressure on FrostBeule. Still, FrostBeule stayed focussed and eventually finished it after a great, tense final! Another (!) amazing performance by the best player in Trackmania history! Keep it up Frost!
YYT|FrostBeule: "It feels awesome of course. I mean winning for the 5th time in a row in just unreal. And coming in to the tournament knowing you've already won it 4 times can be a bit unmotivated, so I'm especially glad that I managed to pull through and win because of that."
BeScene SteelSeries cup
In this cup, only players from the Benelux were allowed to participated. One YoYoTECH player did: Sani0. He won his first four matches, but in the WB final, he had a little fallback and was sent to the consolation final. There, he got back on his feet and managed to get a first place and a spot for the grand final. Here, his opponents were three dutch players: Koen, Rookie and WCG.nl champion Tamarillo. Tamarillo is without any doubt the best Benelux player of this moment and so he was considered to be the favourite for this cup. Nonetheless, the other players were motivated to give their best.

Still, Tamarillo wasn't very impressed and he really played like a beast. He won all the rounds, except for two (where he finished second). He became finalist with a comfortable 40-points lead and was thus never really threatened. He did crash twice when being finalist, but that's merely a footnote because he finished it right after.

In the background Sani0 was having a nice fight with Rookie. With a 104 score and 6 points in front of Rookie, Sani0 became finalist. But he was unfortunate in the next round and so Rookie also became finalist. The last round would be decisive, because Koen never really got in the match. On this last round, Sani0 did a little mistake and Rookie was able to finish it. Still, a nice top3 for Sani0 in this first BeScene Steelseries cup! Well done!

dignitas\Tamarillo: "The tournament was a great experience as I've never seen a tournament in the Benelux online with so much player and skill. Everybody was well trained and that made the tournament even better. The road to the final for me was quite easy, even though I had some tough competition I kept it together and reached the winnerbracket final. There I lost to Rookie (Infinity Delta) and that made me nervous for the following grand final, where Sani0 and Koen rejoined us. All the mistakes I made earlier unleashed more or less all the potential I had. After the first map I had 46 points, and after the second map I had 88 points. Made it up to finalist while leading with 40 points, I started to make my first mistakes of the match, but, after a few rounds, I grabbed the win. Last of all I want to say GG to all participants, GG to the broadcasters/shoutcasters and GG to the admins!"
YYT|Sani0: It was a good final, the only bad thing was that Koen left during the match :-/ Tamarillo was really in his best form and I did a close match vs Rookie. Finalist mode kind of killed me in the end.
Polish WCG qualifiers
Today was also the Polish WCG qualifier. A YoYoTECH player in trial was present to have a shot at the Polish ticket for the grand final in Los Angeles. Nothing was up against the Polish ESWC competitor Mikus and last year's Polish WCG champion Shadow. It promised to be hard for our young player, but it went easier than expected. After the first map he was leading with 16 points, after the second map he doubled his lead and so on. In the end, he finished with 40 points before the second player at that time. This means Nothing was able to take the Polish slot and got his ticket to the grand final in LA. Well done mate!
Another WCG event today, but this time for the Czech/Slovakian slot. There were two online cups to qualify for the actual qualifier, which will be held next Saturday.

Sandro already managed to qualify for this WCG LAN last week, and today hakki Junior did the same. So now we have both of our baltic players in the Czech/Slovakian WCG qualifier, fighting for that one ticket. It promises to be tense! Good luck both...
